it's a useful tool for getting out items you're stuck on. if you're stuck on a piece of armor, just throw the vial at it, the item will be dropped on the ground. then you can use your inventory to pick it up.
some items are too valuable to drop. theres a chance that you might lose the item or be knocked out of combat. if you're really stuck on an item, you can try to pick the item up and throw it against a wall or something. if it's not valuable enough, it'll just fly away from you.
looting items isn't very easy. if you can't use your hands, you're forced to use the dropper. if you throw it at an item it'll be dropped on the ground and you have to walk over to it to pick it up. this is really slow.
